Whole Body Cryotherapy
It’s very cold and that’s a good thing. In most Cryotherapy treatments, the temperature will be between -130℉ and -184℉.
You will not get frostbite. If you stayed in such cold temperatures for long, you would; but a whole body cryotherapy treatment lasts only one to three minutes, and your extremities will be protected. That’s not long enough for frostbite.
You can wear ordinary clothes. When you arrive, you will strip down to your underwear and we’ll give you a robe, thermal socks, booties, and gloves to protect your extremities. You’ll also need to remove all metal jewelry.
After you have changed into your robe and protective gear, you will step into the pre-cooled chamber and the technician will adjust the height to ensure your head and neck aren’t exposed to the cold vapor in the chamber. Then, you’ll hand over your robe and the treatment will begin. You should rotate to ensure even exposure. When treatment ends, you’ll get your robe back, put it on, and step out of the chamber.
There are some conditions that are contraindicated for Cryotherapy. These include pregnancy, high blood pressure, cardiac conditions (a recent heart attack or an arrhythmia, for example), or a recent stroke, and certain chronic conditions such as Reynaud’s syndrome, anemia, and acute kidney/urinary tract disease. *If you have a pre-existing condition, please check with your doctor before scheduling a Whole Body Cryotherapy treatment.
Many athletes use ice baths to reduce inflammation, but they take time and can be uncomfortable. Your body is exposed to lower temperatures with Cryotherapy and treatment can be completed in just a few minutes.
Normatec® Compression Therapy
Most sessions are 30 minutes but may last as long as 60 minutes, if required.
We recommend comfortable, tight-fitting clothes on any areas to be treated. If you wear loose-fitting clothing, it can bunch up during the treatment and cause discomfort.
Normatec® Compression Therapy uses boots, sleeves, and shorts to compress in the treated area that works its way upward. It isn’t painful and many people compare the sensation to an intense therapeutic massage.
The therapy does three things. First, the pulsing mobilizes fluid in the treated areas by mimicking muscle movements. Then, the gradient hold prevents fluids from going in the wrong direction, restricting the backflow of fluids, including water and lactic acid. Finally, the distal release systematically releases the pressure in each zone, forcing the fluids to move in the desired direction.
While many professional athletes use Normatec® to speed their recovery after a workout, it can benefit anybody who loves to exercise regularly. It is also useful to help those with circulation problems and people with physically demanding jobs.
Some people get compression therapy after surgery to speed their recovery. *You should check with your doctor before scheduling an appointment.
Cryoskin™ (Body Contouring)
Yes. The process of Cryoskin™ therapy is controlled by an electronic temperature sensor that first warms the skin before cooling it. The sensor is there to ensure that your skin is not exposed to extreme temperature for too long. There is a built-in alarm system to notify the therapist of any malfunction. We do recommend that you check with your doctor before scheduling a treatment. Women who are pregnant and people with certain diseases should not get Cryoskin™ treatments.
During the treatment, we will apply gel to the area to be treated. First, the skin is warmed for two minutes; then, it is rapidly cooled to a a temperature -8℃. This is done to promote apoptosis, or the death of fat cells.
The treatment time varies depending on which procedure you have. Cryoskin™ facial treatments are 20 minutes long. CryoSlimming treatments can last between 28 and 40 minutes, while CryoToning sessions are 30 minutes long.
No! You will feel a pleasant heating and massage first, then the cooling will begin. Many of our patients describe the sensation as “pleasant”.
Some patients see results immediately following their session, but in most cases, the best results are visible between 14 days and 4 months after the first session. The reason is that it takes time for your body to eliminate fat cells.
CryoToning and CryoFacial treatments can be done every three to seven days, while we recommend 14 days between CryoSlimming treatments.
